I have a BMW 525i 1995 and I want it to sound a little more aggressive.?

I don't want to spend a lot of money I was thinking within 100-150 range. I was thinking about just buying a magnaflow muffler and having a shop install it. But I'm not sure what kind of a sound difference this would make and would it be worth it? Have any experience yourself let me know. And also I wondered if it would change my emissions, like make it harder on smog testing.
