How to politely answer personal questions?

My husband and I don't have any children, much to our dissappointment. TTC is making me especially sensitive to personal questions about when we are going to start having kids. I am a private person and I don't feel comfortable sharing our struggles with every nosey person. These questions started the day we got married and haven't stopped. What are some poliet answers to all the prying?
